Vivien Dress Keepsake

I’m delighted with my Vivian Daisy dress - my first purchase from Karma East! It fits and hangs beautifully and I’ve already had many compliments. 100% cotton, a quality garment that will never go out of style. I wanted a classic cotton summer dress - I got it!! I shall definitely be purchasing again.

I already have a different style in this fabric but love the fabric so much that I decided to try a large in the Vivien as medium no longer available. It was too big but I know my daughter has another Vivien dress so I got her to see if it would fit. Bingo, yes it does, she was very happy and I was sent a photo of her going off to work in it, with a jacket on top on these cooler mornings. Versatile. Good to have a bonding moment as well.

I was pleasantly surprised how amazing this dress fit! It's not a style I would normally try - if you are on the fence, go for it!

Pulled out my Vivian Dress today, and what a flattering fit! It's another winner. Wore it to high tea, it's so comfy to wear and looks gorgeous. Love the colours (Dianthus).
I'm tempted to shorten it (because I'm short), but I'll leave it for now, and see how it wears.

10 if you include the one in Astro which is on the way. The first one I bought was in Twilight, which I loved so much that when it wore thin on the shoulders (due to backpack straps) I simply bought another one exactly the same to replace it!

I fluctuate between sizes and I've been buying them for years - peep the vintage Ika print, iykyk - so I have sizes M to 3XL and honestly the 3XLs still fit fine, I just actually use the waist tie. I don't normally use the waist tie for extra comfiness and because of the cut it's loose without looking a shapeless sack.

I keep buying Viviens because they tick all the boxes for work: neckline not low, hemline not high, shoulders covered for sun at lunch, pockets fit my huge phone and enough other stuff that I don't need a handbag, fabric thickness and stitching are consistently good.

The only feedback I have is around colours and button placement, but these are personal preferences. I sew in a snap to make an (invisible) additional button halfway between the bottom button and the hem. This stops the dress from flapping open at the split on windy days. It only ever goes as high as mid-thigh, so if you've never bought a Vivien before don't worry, it's not indecent or anything. I just prefer it and I would be overjoyed if it was a real button with a button hole that's already there when I buy it.

I'd love to see more choices for Viviens in "warm" colours, but again this is just personal preference. For example, I have the Polly Pocket corduroy tunic in Zinfandel and I am OBSESSED with that colour.

I have about half a dozen other Karma East dresses in different cuts but it's hard to go back to other dresses when you haven't had to think about bra vs neckline logistics, or do-I-wear-tights-under-this, or the existence of zips for a while.

If I win the $200 voucher for writing a review you'd better believe I'm using it to buy two more Viviens haha

This is my 4th Vivien and it's an absolute stunner. So comfortable and so pretty, it makes me feel good and always gets comments. I'm short, so it's ankle length on me and, honestly, I love that! Today was dresswashing day and it made me realise even though I own 10 Karma East dresses I've never left a review! Great company, quick delivery to NZ, happy with every single dress I've bought. I have 5 Vivien dresses - one for each workday in the warmer months. Viviens are so versatile - I wear them with long boots, ankle boots, heeled sandals, flat sandals or casual lace-ups; with a skinny belt, wide belt or the fabric belt they came with, as a V-neck or buttoned up round neck. 5 Dresses but virtually 50 different looks! And the cotton bags that Karma East clothes are packaged in are fantastic for keeping 'smalls' tidy in drawers (they're also great gift bags).

This is my second Vivian dress and I adore it as much as the first. The Pomegranate print is gorgeous and vibrant and the structure of the dress is so comfortable yet flattering. I’ve been experimenting with the styling and I love it as a cute button-up dress, but also as a kind of duster over some drapey pants.

Stunning dress that changes with you. Breastfeeding friendly with the buttons down the front. Beautiful cut and lots of colours.

Cloth: feels like great quality cotton, a sturdy weave but also soft and very comfortable to wear.

Print: wonderfully vibrant, always puts a smile on my face. I've since acquired a few other items in this pattern.

Style: very comfortable and summery, while providing enough cover that I don't feel disrespectful when taking a look around places of worship as a tourist. It's smart enough to change into for an evening out on holiday, then does very nicely to wear the following day for morning and afternoon adventures. I think I now have three Vivien dresses, and a few more on my wishlist.

This is one of my first purchases from Karma East. I am so impressed with the beauty of the print, the quality of the fabric and stitching, and the comfortable style of the garment which I believe I will be wearing for years to come.

I’m a huge Vivien fan and Percival is one of my favourites - the print is so bright and fun. It’s tts and having accurate measurements on the website sure makes choosing the right size easy!
Percival is the perfect name for this print. It reminds me of a book called Storm Boy (by South Australian writer, Colin Thiele), about a pelican called Mr Percival. I love the subtle nod Karma East has given to another SA classic.

This is my 3rd Vivien dress and I’m certain it’s not my last one thanks to the stunning prints of Karma East. My Vivien is beautifully made with quality cotton fabric, and yay for pockets! As a pear shape, I often struggle to find dresses that are flattering and fit me well through the hips, but Vivien does it all! She’s been so cleverly designed with flat panels running down the outside of the hips. By keeping the waist gathering central, the hips aren’t bulky but the skirt still has all the volume and swishyness I want. The little cap sleeves perfectly balance the full skirt, and although it comes with a waist tie I prefer to wear mine without. This is one of the few dress styles I wear all year round by adding a skivvy and boots/tights in the winter, or just with my sandals in the summertime. I’d love to see Vivien in a retro geometric print next to complement to retro vibes of the style.

Another gorgeous Karma East dress in such a lovely fabric. It fits well and feels divine. Quality and service is wonderful as always.

I love the pattern and I bought it a size bigger so I cinch in the waist with a leather belt.
The skirt is nice and full and a great cut.

I honestly love this dress- I bought one in a different print, and loved it so much I went back to buy another! The prints are fun, the fabric is lovely, the cut is flattering, it can be dressed up or down, and it has pockets! Highly recommend.

This was my first dress from karma East and I absolutely love it and have already bought two further Vivien since I bought this one. I absolutely love all the colors and the pattern. It’s so beautiful and can easily be dressed up or down. The belt for bringing it in at waist is awesome. I really love the style of it and the pockets are a brilliant asset.

I absolutely love my Vivian dress size 14 in the Protea colour way, which is the darker blue design. It is extremely flattering and comfortable. I have already washed it and worn it on more than three occasions. The cotton fabric has a bit of structure to it, though it is still soft. Cold wash and no ironing required. Looks exactly as in photos. If you only buy one dress, choose the Vivian, you will not be disappointed, Do I have to say I will Definitely be buying another In the new colour way

This is my second Vivien dress. I love the vibrant colours, the style, the fit. It’s perfect for my pear shape. As with all my Karma East dresses I get a ton of compliments and enquires as to where I bought it, from both friends and strangers!

Lovely light cotton dress, great for the hot weather. No petticoat needed. The style looks good with or without the tie belt. The belt is actually slightly too high for my waist, so I will wear it without using the belt loops. The size calculator says that I’m a size S by my bust measurement so that’s what I bought. I find this just a little tight and would have preferred to have an M. I’m usually a size 12 and bust measurement is 95 cm.

Gosh, this is a beautiful dress. The fabric is heavy, yet soft and the cut is structured and flattering. Perfect for a variety of occasions 🩵
